Dave Hemler, CEO
As the Chief Executive Officer of Revation Systems, Dave Hemler directs and ensures the execution of the company’s corporate strategy. He draws from more than 20 years of consulting and executive experience for global technology organizations.
Throughout his career, Hemler has been driven by a passion for innovation and its ability to impact an organization’s competitive advantage. He has also been an active and vocal champion of business partnerships and channel relationships, recognizing their critical roles in delivering on the promise of innovation.
Hemler is the former president of Best Buy For Business. In this role, he led the development and execution of strategies for delivering technology solutions to business, education and government customers across the company’s store, direct sales, services, and telephone-based channels. During his tenure, he affected a dramatic turnaround in business performance, customer satisfaction and profitability.
Prior to joining Best Buy, Hemler spent 11 years at Microsoft, most recently in the position of president, Microsoft Canada Company, where he was responsible for all aspects of Microsoft’s commercial and government business in Canada. His enthusiasm for the potential of technology is evident in how he actively engaged with customers, partners and product development groups at Microsoft.
Before joining Microsoft, Hemler spent several years with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he advised large multinational clients across North America on a wide range of IT design, implementation and strategy decisions.
Hemler received his bachelor of arts degree with honors from the University of Notre Dame and holds a master’s of business administration with high honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Perry Price, President and Founder
Perry Price brings a successful sales track record with high-growth technology and Fortune 500 companies to his work with Revation Systems. In his role of president he touches a number of aspects of the business including building and growing the customer base, recruiting qualified talent and streamlining internal operations. He utilizes his deep domain expertise in IP networking and communication applications – including telephony, unified communications, call-center technologies and messaging – with Revation Systems, where he and the team are dedicated to providing a secure, easy-to-use, communications solution to industries such as healthcare and financial services.
Price is a lifelong entrepreneur, with more than 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to co-founding Revation Systems, Price was vice president at Aravox Technologies, a start-up voice over IP (VoIP) security company. While there he had global responsibilities for sales and business development, and worked with the team to evangelize Aravox’s new product with some of the world’s largest telecom companies, helping build a global sales force. Aravox’s intellectual property was acquired by Alcatel in 2001.
Before joining Aravox, Price was director of technology and sales development in Lucent’s (later Avaya) services-provider sales group, where he jointly developed Avaya’s sales strategy. In this capacity, he ran the data-networking group and in the course of two years increased annual revenues from less than $50 million to more than $200 million by re-organizing the corporation’s channel model. He also previously held several sales positions and ultimately became director of regional sales for AT&T’s Internetworking Group.
Mark Pietras, CTO and Founder
In his role as CTO, Mark Pietras utilizes his experience in working with high-growth technology and Fortune 500 companies to lead the strategic and technical direction of Revation Systems. Through his management of the product roadmap, the company has expanded from its original secure communications system of chat and voice options to become a unified communications solution. This secure, compliant system supports the varied industries that Revation Systems works with, including healthcare and financial services organizations of all sizes.
Pietras has dedicated his career to the communications industry, and has more than 20 years of experience in product development, architecture planning and engineering management. Prior to co-founding Revation Systems, Pietras was CTO at Aravox Technologies, a start-up voice over IP (VoIP) security company, where he was in charge of product management and strategy, and the product roadmap. He was the public face regarding all technology aspects of the company, and when Aravox’s intellectual property was acquired by Alcatel in 2001, Pietras led the technology transfer between the two companies.
Prior to Aravox, Pietras was the senior principal architect at CopperCom Corporation, a leader in telecommunications solutions for local exchanges, where he was the lead VoIP technologist. He was previously a senior product architect at NetSpeak Corporation, pioneering development of advanced IP telephony solutions, and specialized in video research and multimedia sub-system development for IBM. Pietras holds 19 issued U.S. patents in multimedia and communications, many of which deal with video compression.
